anime expo
@ 2:21 p.m.
Hmm.. I'm surprised it's only been a week since I last wrote in here, seems like a lot of stuff has happened.
My dry lips thing have already ended luckily. I think it ended after like 2 days. I forgot all about it to be honest.
So this past weekend was anime expo and well, it's been established that it's not as fun as before, but it's still a chance to hang out. the only thing that sucked was... this year we ended up having to pay $50 entrance fee. Ever since we were established as a company and considered "industry" we got to go in for free (in 2010), but this year they made it stricter. i guess since we were technically anime, but rather a video game company, they made us pay $50. nonetheless, it's better than nothing. for general entrance, you have to wait in line for like an hour or so (it used to be worse), and the pricing is like $70? something like that. i was pretty bummed about needing to pay, but was damn glad to avoid that line.
i feel like we really didn't do much this year. last year there was battle of the bands, dancing that one night, the arcade sucked though because there really wasn't one. we watched a couple of anime related things as well. i had a decent experience last year, it felt like there were things to do.
this year, i caught one anime showing, a panel to meet egoraptor... and that was about it. i spent a majority of the time in the exhibition hall and artist galler. there was an arcade, but pretty mediocre. there was a ddr machine, so I managed one round of DDR. (god i'm out of shape) the console gaming they had was whatever too. they also had lounge this year, but it was retarded. it was just a room, with two podium looking tables, and they were supposed to be the bartenders, but they didn't have any tap, just a bunch of bottles they they were cooling with ice. they used shitty plastic cups, but the worst part was that the line was ridiculously long that it stretched all the way across the room. but i don't know why they wanted to get in line to be ripped off because just a beer cost $8. and i'm pretty sure it was just a small plastic cup of beer, not even one bottle. there were a few tables, but not many chairs. there was no reason to stay in there!
our roommate is heavily into anime, and he got one of our friends ris into it. so he and ris got there really early and stayed up kinda late, though shinn did go to sleep a bit earlier. they did a bunch of anime related stuff and went to many panels i believe. well, so we ended up spending most of our time with marcos, which i really preferred. i don't really care to watch much anime. it was really nice to hang out with marcos, since it hasn't happened since he moved out, and i imagine we won't really see him again for another year or so. that's how it usually ends up being.
we wanted to get high for the expo, but it didn't end up happening. c lost his card...
on another note, the sex has been great. we did it some time this week during anime expo. i think it was on sunday morning. it was really good ... i was surprised that he felt like doing it.
last night i went to bed pretty early cause i had work today... well, ris was over and well, shinn is now living with us too of course. we haven't really established habits yet... and since ris was over, you just didn't know if they would be smart enough to leave well enough alone on a closed door. but ris and shinn were in his room, had been for awhile... maybe an hour or two, and c really wanted it. i thought it was a bad idea, with people being in the other room, and i guess i wasn't in the mood, cause you know i was sleeping, but he somehow managed to convince me and i was surprised by that. i told him to make it short, cause i was nervous, but it was a great quickie, and i told him to pull out cause i didn't want to bother with cleaning up. i couldn't believe how wet he was when he came out... or rather, how wet i was. it was just a lot more than i anticipated, he said so too. sex should be more like that, it feels so much better. i wonder what was up with c last night though, maybe he didn't feel close enough to me. he seemed really urgent in it and repeated said that he needed me and asked that i never leave him. he usually doesn't get that way during sex. now that i think back on it, it makes me feel good that it was like that.
wonder how it'll work out now with our new roommate. technically he didn't really start sleeping over here until july 1 or 2, but anime expo started on Friday, so we haven't gotten to a normal routine yet. plus, ris has been over to our place a shit ton since shinn moved in so we haven't had much normalcy. i guess ris is gonna go back home today, he actually sounded concerned about missing so much school haha.. and that he hadn't done any work yet... now that things will be going back to normal, i wonder how the how getting sleep at night thing will work out. it's been really nice to have so many happy days since we haven't argued about the sleeping problem at all. i hope this lasts.
oh yea, i just remembered. i was going to mention this but forgot. i tried to look up anything about anime expo the past few years and it looks like i just didn't write about it... and the reason why i was looking it up is cause i have no recollection of what happened in 2008.. so i'm just gonna write this out for me to remember
2005 - good year
2006 - good year
2007 - long beach year
2008 - ??
2009 - didn't go
2010 - got in with industry. decent arcade at concourse hall, spent a great deal of time at exhibition hall and also some time on ddr. got high on one of the days and it was extremely hard to function.
2011 - watched a couple of anime shows, first year with shinn, shitty arcade (no ddr extreme machine), drank and first watched madoka, great time at the artist gallery buying bookmarks
