it's like he has totally moved on now. (part2)

Hey ****!
I was certainly surprised when i received an email from you, and even more so when i read it. To be honest, I don't really have too much to say, but i thought you deserved a proper reply at the least.
Out of interest, even though you didn't like smoking after you tried it for the first time, why did you continue to do it? For me, i have probably smoke 1 cigarette in the past 3 years or so, solely to social smoking, but i don't think that that's such a bad thing. Similarly, if you only tried smoking a few times, then stopped, i don't see anything wrong with it. If you're continuing to smoke, then erm, i wouldn't think that'd be a good idea at all, but it's your life. Similarly, i am against taking recreational drugs personally, but again, if friends or others have tried it before, it's their ife, and it doesn't seem to affect them (from what i know). As long as they're not addicted or using it regularly.
Even though i haven't been in contact with you for the last few years, I'm sure you're still the same good person that i used to know deep down. And i'm very sure you're a smart person. Good people and smart people have their off days as well. As much as it'd be great, we can't be perfect 100% of the time. If you're feeling really bad about it, i'm sure that means you've learning from an experience which you can use in the future, yeah?
I don't think that there is anything to forgive! I never held it against you, and even now, if you were to give me hard time about it, i'd think that you would be right. So you don't have to apologise! But for what it's worth, i don't think you judged me harshly at all... i don't smoke cigarettes, so you must have had a good influence! And i turned out alright didn't i? :) [i think... haha]
I hope you don't worry about it too much, everyone makes mistakes, you just have to pick yourself up and learn from it.
By the way, it's your birthday is just over a week right? And your mother's too i think.. (2 days after you if i remember correctly..), do you have any exciting plans for your 22nd?! You know, it's been about 8 or 9 years since we were together. Has it really been that long?!?
Take care.
